Vinnies Winter Appeal and Sleepout – a night to remember!

Students

During Weeks 6-7, our entire K-12 College donated food, toiletries and other goods for our Vinnies Winter Appeal. These items were carefully packaged by the Mini Macks (Primary) and Mini Vinnies (Secondary) students and will be distributed amongst St Vincent de Paul, Beauty For Ashes and Coast Shelter, to help members of our community in need this winter.

Our appeal concluded on Friday 4 June with a Winter Sleepout where Secondary students roughed it for one night to experience what those less fortunate do on a daily basis. The evening saw guests speakers, games, a soup dinner (prepared by our generous staff) and ended with a cold night’s sleep. We hope our students found this to be a rewarding experience.

A big shout out to Mr Mac, Mrs Elcoate, Mrs Wells and Mrs Baxter who braved the cold, and to Mrs Tenev who helped run games. Also a massive thanks to all the support teachers who assistaed with supervision, and to everyone who cooked delicious soup! All leftovers of soup were donated to Coast Shelter, so nothing went to waste.

Thank you to everyone for your generous support, and to our Mini Vinnies and Mini Macs for all of their hard work.
