Year 7 Transition Program

The transition to Year 7 is a milestone full of excitement, opportunity, and new friendships. At MacKillop Catholic College, our tailored transition program ensures that each student is supported in every aspect—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our aim is to ensure that every student feels a strong sense of belonging within the MCCW community; is welcomed, inspired, and ready to excel from their very first day.

Mrs Norman, our dedicated K-12 Transitions Officer, is always on hand to answer any questions, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable process for both students and their families.

Taster Day:

Our Year 7 Transition Program begins with our exciting Open Day and Taster Days.

  • Participate in a variety of hands-on activities and classes
  • Explore subjects like Science, Japanese, Technology, Drama, Sport, Dance
  • Meet our friendly teachers, leaders and support staff

Taster Day helps to:

  • Reduce anxiety about starting at a new school
  • Familiarising students with our large campus
  • Build a sense of belonging to the incredible MacKillop Community

Our 2026 Taster Day for Year 5 students, commencing Year 7 in 2028, will be held on Thursday, 20 August! Registration is essential
