Indigenous Book Stall – donations needed
Coming up on 7 September is Indigenous Literacy Day. On this day, we sell books to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The foundation uses the money for numerous literacy programs for Indigenous children in remote communities who would otherwise have very little access to books. One of the programs is to involve community to write and illustrate books in their own language. The gap has narrowed for literacy and numeracy but despite improvements there are still too many Indigenous students that remain below the national minimum standards in reading. You can read more about the literacy foundation HERE.
So do you have some pre-loved books that you could donate? Then bring them into our College office or Library from now.
