Dance Troupe – Auditions & Choreography this July!

If you love to dance, then we have an amazing opportunity for you!!

Coming up these school holidays we will be holding auditions and learning choreography for 3 amazing dance troupes that we are forming;

  • Secondary Jazz (new routine)
  • Secondary Musical Theatre (Hairspray)
  • Year 5 & 6 Jazz (new routine)

Successful dancers will represent MacKillop at Your Next Step Dance Challenge on 25 August (during school hours).

How to get involved?

  1. SIGN UP – Primary students please see Mrs Passafaro for your sign up note (email allison.passafaro@dbb.catholic.edu.au). Secondary please see Mrs Baird or use the GOOGLE FORM. The forms MUST be filled out for permissions/expressions of interest. The forms also provide crucial information for all. 

 

DATES/TIMES:

Year 5 & 6 – Monday 11 July 9am to 1pm, and Tuesday 12 July 9am to 12pm

Secondary: Monday, 11 July 9am to 3pm (please bring lunch), and Tuesday 12 July 12:30-3pm

VENUE:

Dance/Drama Studio and Theatre (Secondary Campus)

 

CHOREOGRAPHER:

We have a special guest choreographer, Madeline Bell. 

ABOUT MADELINE: Maddy is thrilled to be choreographing for Mackillop Catholic College’s dance troupe this year. She began dance training at the young age of 2, practising all styles and completing all RAD ballet examinations up to Advanced. She is currently in her third year of studying a Bachelor of Dance and Physical Education at the Australian College of Physical Education (recently completing a placement at our school). Maddy graduated from Hunter School of the Performing Arts in 2018 and was awarded the “Central to Hunter Ex Students Association Prize for Performing Arts” after being nominated for Onstage and Callback for her dance and drama HSC performances. She has had 15 years of acting tuition and 9 years of vocal training. Maddy has completed 4 AMEB musical theatre examinations and been in over 25 productions with Gosford Musical Society. Maddy has choreographed many eisteddfod routines for numerous dance studios over the central coast and assistant choreographed Madagascar the musical at Gosford Musical Society. Maddy looks forward to working with the students at Mackillop and showcasing their talents.
