On Monday, 25 March, in the latest Mark Taylor Shield Cricket fixture, MacKillop faced off against St John Fisher in a close encounter. Opting to bat first, St John Fisher posted a formidable total of 177, setting a challenging target for us. However, our bowlers showcased their skill and determination, with Lochie, Jacob, Victor, and Adam all contributing with crucial wickets. Supported by a solid fielding effort from the rest of the team, MacKillop demonstrated resilience and teamwork throughout the match.

Although our run chase began with a shaky start, we displayed determination with the bat, forging promising partnerships along the way. Lochie and Adam, retiring unbeaten after scoring 30 runs each, showcased their batting prowess, complemented by Oliver’s commendable captain’s innings, adding 21 runs to the total. Despite our efforts, MacKillop fell short, managing 145 runs in our allotted 30 overs.

Congratulations to St John Fisher for their well-deserved victory and progression to the next stage of the competition. Well done to all MacKillop players for their unwavering enthusiasm and sportsmanship on the field and enjoying the day.
