Future Me: Year 4 Pathways and Partnerships

27 Nov 2025
Student

Last Wednesday, Year 4 students took part in an inspiring Primary Pathways Workshop led by the CSBB Pathways and Partnerships team. The workshop was designed to spark career curiosity early and remind our students that their futures are not limited by traditional ideas about “girls’ jobs” or “boys’ jobs”—they can be anything they want to be.

Current research shows that children as young as four begin forming ideas about careers and may start absorbing stereotypes. That’s why it’s so important that we introduce positive, inclusive messages about future pathways in primary school, then build on these foundations with more structured career exploration later on.

During the day, students enthusiastically met and interacted with volunteer guests representing a wide range of fields, culminating in an exciting “big reveal” of each volunteer’s job.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible volunteers, dedicated teachers, and enthusiastic Year 10 mentors—all of whom helped to create a supportive mentor culture and a memorable experience for every student.
